Privacy notice
How we handle the information you send us. Short, because we collect very little.
Who we are
Mjini Tech is a software development company registered in Kenya. If you have a question about this notice or about information we hold, write to hello@mjinitech.com.
What we collect
Only what you choose to send us. If you use the enquiry form on our contact page, that is:
- Your name, and your company name if you give one
- Your email address, and your phone number if you give one
- The service you are interested in and any budget range you select
- Whatever you write in the project description
If you email, call or message us on WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever that conversation contains.
How the enquiry form works
By default this website has no server of its own. Submitting the enquiry form composes a message and hands it to your own email application, which you then send yourself. Your details travel from you to us by email and are not stored on this website. If we later connect the form to a form-handling service, we will name that service here before doing so.
Why we hold it
To reply to your enquiry, to prepare a proposal if you ask for one, and to carry out work you engage us to do. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Where you become a client, we keep project correspondence and records for as long as we are working together, and afterwards for as long as tax and contractual obligations under Kenyan law require.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and runs no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The only thing stored in your browser is your light or dark theme preference, kept in local storage on your own device. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your site data removes it.
Hosting
The site is served as static files by our hosting provider, which processes standard server request data such as IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect against abuse. We do not have access to any analytics profile built from it.
Your rights
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, you may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email hello@mjinitech.com and we will respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Client information, credentials and project material are kept in access-controlled systems, shared only with the people working on your project, and returned or destroyed at the end of an engagement on request.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date below. Material changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
