An engineering company built around finishing things.
Plenty of software gets started. Much less of it reaches real users with the admin, the payments and the operations behind it. Mjini Tech exists to close that gap.
Mjini Tech is a software development company. We design, build and ship complete products, covering web platforms, mobile apps, AI systems, e-commerce and payment integrations, for clients locally and abroad.
The company was set up around a specific problem. Most software projects do not fail because the code is difficult. They fail in the gaps: between the designer and the developer, between the front end and the payment provider, between a demo that works and a real customer who has paid and expects their order to arrive.
We structured the company to remove those gaps. One team is accountable for the interface, the services behind it, the database, the payments, the infrastructure and the security. When something breaks there is no vendor to point at.
What we have shipped
Before taking on client work we built and launched our own products: an AI marketing platform, an international dating platform serving 195 countries or more, a three-sided escrow marketplace, an e-commerce store, a trading system with enforced risk controls, and an AI-driven security testing platform. Six products across six industries, each taken to production.
In our first six months we have served more than 400 clients worldwide.
That experience is practical rather than theoretical. When we say M-Pesa settlement needs idempotency, that real-time video will shape your infrastructure costs, or that an escrow flow depends on its dispute path, we are describing systems we have run.
How we work
Short delivery cycles with software you can open and use. Written estimates, including the uncomfortable ones. Plain language instead of jargon that makes simple decisions sound complicated. A complete handover at the end, covering the code, the repositories, the infrastructure accounts and the documentation.
We would rather tell you a project is not a fit than take it and disappoint you. That has cost us work, and it is also why the clients we take on tend to stay.

Our approach
Three principles that decide how we build
Complete delivery
We build the whole product, including the admin tools, payment flows and infrastructure that make it usable in a real business. Not a demo that needs finishing later.
Correctness where it counts
Escrow that holds funds until delivery. Risk limits enforced in the execution path. Settlement that reconciles and can be audited. The safeguards live in the code.
Practical use of AI
We apply AI where it measurably improves the product, such as content pipelines and tool orchestration, and use conventional engineering everywhere else.
Team
Who you will be working with
Senior and hands-on. The people you meet in the first call are the people who build your product.
Tyson Mulwa
Founder and Lead Engineer
Full-stack engineer and the architect behind the products on our work page, across AI, payments, real-time systems and security. Leads technical direction and stays hands-on in every build.
Aisha Mohammad
Co-founder
Co-founded Mjini Tech and leads the commercial side of the company: client relationships, scoping and the delivery commitments we make. Usually the first person you speak to about a project.
Philip Kariuki
Software Architect
Owns system design across our builds: data models, service boundaries and the decisions that are expensive to reverse later. Reviews the architecture before implementation starts.
Mark Ochieng
Technical Lead
Runs delivery day to day, keeping builds on schedule and holding code review and testing standards consistent across the team.
Mercy Ndinda
AI Engineer
Builds our AI systems: agent pipelines, retrieval over client data, and the evaluation work that decides whether a model actually earns its place in a product.
Five full-stack developers
Engineering
The engineers who build your product, covering front end, back end, mobile and infrastructure. Assigned to your project rather than shared thinly across many.
Process
How we work
Five stages, with working software in your hands at the end of each one.
Discover
We learn the business, the users and the constraints, then agree what success means in measurable terms.
Design
Architecture, data model and interface designed together, so the build carries no hidden surprises.
Build
Short cycles with software you can open and use, rather than status reports about work you cannot see.
Ship
Deployment, monitoring, live payments, and a handover with documentation and account access that is yours.
Support
Fixes, iteration and new features on an ongoing basis, because a live product is never finished.
